I’m taking an editing course this month, and so far, it’s going well. I’m learning many new things but not so many that I’m starting to doubt myself.
In the course, they included a unit on writing inclusively. As I listened to the information being presented, it quickly became apparent that I needed to learn more about this and that I need to be far more mindful about how I describe the characters in my manuscripts.
So I’ve bought a book, and I’ve done more googling, and I think I’m going to take a more in-depth course on this topic too.
I have a lot of learning and unlearning to do.
And I will.
And I’m going to do it right away because it’s important and it will help me be a better person as well as a better writer.
And both these things are what I want to be.
